McCain: Conservative Champion
“It is completely unacceptable for any kind of earmarks to be included in this bill. It would be outrageous for legislators and lobbyists to pack this rescue plan with taxpayer money for favored companies. This simply cannot happen.” -John McCain in a speech in Freeland, MI.
So you know what our good friend John did? He voted for this historically awful bailout bill. But remember, he is a maverick and against “pork-barrel” spending. He is the champion of the faithful tax-paying American and opposes all earmarks. Then again, we do need to have the government save our economy, so we shouldn’t fault the guy. As he described it, he voted for it but he didn’t enjoy it. Besides, he has voted against many other earmarks in other bills so that should make us all feel better.
Understand this, folks. We are not just paying $700 billion for the banking industry’s bad real estate investments, we are also paying an additional $112 billion for a bunch of tax breaks for the likes of the rum industry, auto racetrack owners, and yes, even Hollywood. When are Americans going to finally see how corrupt our government officials are? It’s pure evil, y’all. How can we continue to go along with this? You have to realize, the government does not care about you or your money. They are not protecting you from anything. They are propegating themselves and that is about it. This presidential race is between a moderate Democrat and a liberal Democrat. It is lose-lose for us all. How bad do things have to get before people get it? How much of the economy is going to be socialized before Americans wake up and realize they have been had?
God help us…
