Economics in One Essay
With the recent addresses by Ron Paul regarding the Federal Reserve, contrasted with the recent ignorant comments about the “free-market” given by neocons and leftists alike, I have been once again reminded of the best free-market economics lesson I ever read: the essay “I, Pencil” written by Leonard E. Read in 1958. I wish I could just display it here so no one could have any excuse for not reading it. However, it is still copyrighted material so I urge anyone reading this post: please, please, please read this essay. In my opinion it is the most concise explanation of free-market economics and will change how you think about our economy if you let it.
